Marinn Carlson has launched her practice as an independent arbitrator at MCarlson Arbitration PLLC in Washington DC, effective 31 July 2023. Marinn leaves Sidley Austin, where she was co-head of the global international arbitration practice. She has extensive experience in investment disputes, in particular, having represented both claimant investors and respondent governments in roughly equal measure for more than 20 years. Marinn is a member of the executive committee of the Foundation of International Arbitration Advocacy, teaches international investment law as an adjunct professor at both George Washington University and American University’s law schools, and recently served as a vice president of the American Society of International Law.
