Patrizia Netal has been recognized in international directories and described in WWL 2019 and 2020 as a future leader in Arbitration, an “excellent lawyer with an exceptional reputation”, and “highly recommended for her outstanding work as both counsel and arbitrator in international proceedings”. Patrizia has extensive experience in institutional and ad-hoc arbitration proceedings as counsel and arbitrator under the ICC Rules, the Vienna Rules, the DIS Rules and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Her core practice is in international commercial arbitration, focusing on construction and engineering, post-M&A disputes, aviation, distributorship and international sales contracts. Since 2020, Patriza is a member of the board of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre. She further currently serves, by appointment, as co-chair of the Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP). In 2017, Patrizia was also appointed to the steering committee of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) for the revision of the Vienna Rules. Patrizia is the Director of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the world’s largest international arbitration event that brings annually more than 3,500 international arbitration practitioners to Vienna. As Austria’s Steering Committee member of the Pledge for Equal Representation in Arbitration (ERA – The Pledge), Patrizia also lectures arbitration at the Austrian Arbitration Academy of the Summer School of the University of Vienna.
