Ann Ryan Robertson is elected President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as of 2021

Ann Ryan Robertson, International Partner in Locke Lord LLP’s Houston office, was elected President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators at the Institute’s recent Biennial Congress held in Atlanta Georgia.  Elected from a field of eight, her term will begin on 1 January 2021.  Ann will be only the fourth woman in the Institute’s over 100 year history to hold this post.  Currently a Trustee of the Institute, Ann will continue in that position until the end of 2019.  Thereafter she will assume the post of Deputy President for the year 2020.

Ann acts as counsel and sits as arbitrator in commercial disputes.  A frequent speaker on a variety of arbitration topics, Ann is an adjunct professor and for the past 17 years has coached the University of Houston Law Center’s Vis Moot team.  Recognized as a leader in the field of arbitration, in addition to her work with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, she serves on the Council of the AAA/ICDR and was appointed by the U.S. State Department to serve on the NAFTA 2022 Committee.
