A panel of three members will discuss (i) the use of adverse inferences in
international arbitration (following the decision from the Cour d’appel de
Paris of 28 February 2017), and (ii) the liability of arbitrators
(following the decision of the Spanish Supreme Court of 15 February
2017). The speakers will be: (i) Franz Stirnimman (Partner at Froriep,
Geneva), (ii) Elena Gutie?rrez Garci?a de Corta?zar (Independent Arbitrator and
Lawyer specialised in International Arbitration, Madrid and Paris) and (iii)
Willem van Baren (Independent Arbitrator and Lawyer specializes in
International Arbitration, Amsterdam). The discussion will be moderated by
Thabiso van den Bosch (Partner at Conway & Partners) and Ana Morales (Legal
Adviser at the Iran – U.S. Claims Tribunal).
