Recently, the international arbitration community has seen developments concerning the immunity and liability of arbitrators, particularly in Qatar and Egypt. As part of its 2019 International Arbitration Month, Georgetown International Arbitration Society welcomes everyone to attend a panel discussion examining these events.
The speakers will also discuss the liability of arbitrators in a comparative context, immunity and liability of arbitral institutions, immunities arising in the framework of arbitral proceedings, and the question of whether these issues should be addressed by a soft law instrument.
The discussion will be followed by a networking reception.
