In February 2018, HKIAC launched the “Women in Arbitration” (WIA) initiative aimed at promoting the success of women in arbitration and related sectors. HK45, the young arm of HKIAC, is a group for young arbitration practitioners in Asia and beyond aimed at promoting arbitration in Hong Kong and supporting young arbitration lawyers. Diversity in arbitration — including but not limited to gender, age, jurisdiction — is one of the most popular topics in international arbitration.
Some think that diversity is irrelevant to the issue of “legitimacy” of arbitration; others think it is impossible to achieve any true diversity. Learn about the different views of the Chinese arbitration practitioners, which will be debated at this event.
