Active member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has acted as sole arbitrator in five DIAC cases and as lead counsel in fifteen DIAC cases since 2010 and is registered as an arbitrator with both the DIFC and DIAC. Qualified translator admitted to the Chartered Institute of Linguists; chartered marketer admitted to the Chartered Institute of Marketing and admitted as a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Law graduate with an MA in Modern and Mediaeval Languages from Cambridge University and an MA in Business from Cranfield University. Began career as Operations and Business Development Manager for US-owned Blockbuster Plc in London and Vienna and then graduated from the University of Law in London. Articled with HoganLovells in the City of London. After qualifying, practiced Corporate and Commercial Law at HoganLovells for 10 years before moving to establish the well-regarded Family Business Practice at Al Tamimi in Dubai in 2006. Moved in-house and spent the last ten years working as Group General Counsel for a family-owned regional business conglomerate based in Dubai. Broad practical experience of regional corporate, litigation, property and family business legal issues and combines this with a commercial, practical approach. Currently working on the incorporation of a global Family Office.
